"In mid 2020, 5 years after the breakup of their quirky indie-rock band, Andy and Dave Connor realised during lockdown that they missed making music together, and the idea was hatched to start a band that was downbeat and peaceful – ambient but rhythmic. The two spent the rest of lockdown assembling gear and ideas for when they’d eventually get the chance to convene in Andy’s shed in Brunswick, Victoria, to make some music.

As the sessions began and the project started to take shape, Andy settled into a more creative role, feeling and imagining, while Dave took on a more technical role, producing and tweaking, and the playing of instruments was shared evenly.

A unique feature of ‘How Scissors Feel to the Hair’ is that each of the 4 ‘primary tracks’ – the longer, named ones – can be looped into themselves. This allows the listener to extend the length of the songs for however long they want. These are pieces designed principally for background companionship, after all: looping and merging as you work, sleep, read, or any other activity that could benefit from a gentle pulse and texture."
